Five of Our Fave Summer Trends
Finally we have some sunshine, and a chance to dip into that summer wardrobe! With the bank holiday weekend coming up, we thought what better time to show you guys our fave summer trends!
OMG how much do we LOVE the colour yellow! Well, get ready to see it everywhere for Summer 2019. Marigolds, mustards, golden yellows, we’re in yellow heaven. Whether you want a little colour pop like these gorgeous golden yellow loafers to complete your look or a block colour statement like this mustard jumpsuit for those summer parties; there is so much to choose from. If you have a pale skin tone, the best shades will be paler and lighter yellows, or darker tones - stay away from the primary colours. If you are darker skinned then you’re in luck as all yellows will suit your tone. If you are medium to olive skin; then go for lemon or neon colours, the brighter the better. If you’re unsure and are trying to introduce some colour into your wardrobe then start small, go with a hair tie scarf or sandals.
Neon. Most people either think its phenomenal, or only meant for hi-vis clothing! But if done right then neon can be a gorgeous statement piece. Given it’s such a daring trend, I wouldn’t go purchasing a whole wardrobe full, instead select pieces that can integrate with the wardrobe you already own. A cute bralet that you could pair with high waisted white trousers and barely there’s. Or a pair of court shoes to wear with jeans and a cute top.
Who wears short shorts?
Not so short or so tight (cycling shorts) this year, but more free flowing and boyish. Think tailored, knee length, loose fit. These will be a staple day to night outfit when paired with a blazer, just swap the chunky trainers for a pair of heels, neaten that messy bun and add some statement earrings.
Lastly, animal print. Yay! This has been such a staple trend and its here to stay. From cow print, to snake print, neutrals to pops of colour there is something to suit everyone and is such a fun way to bring life to an outfit. Again if you are nervous about going too Kat Moon with the print, then start small with a thin belt or some sandals, and then work from there. Print looks fab teamed with bolder colours so have a play.
Lastly, fringing! Release your inner Pocahontas and get your fringe on! Last year we had cowboy boots and it was only a matter of time before we saw a western theme coming back for 2019. Everything from jackets, to dresses and cute bags, it’s a trend that you can have as much or as little as you like.
